Depending on the risk of a drilling application INTEQ's PressTEQ® service can be provided on an informative, interpretive or interactive service level. Base component of each service level is the accurate downhole pressure information while drilling. Downhole pressure measurement tools are available in tool sizes ranging from 2 3/8" to 9 ½".
Informative Service - At this service level, INTEQ provides accurate downhole annulus and bore pressure data while drilling. At the surface, the pressure information is converted into an Equivalent Circulating Density (ECD) which represents an Equivalent Mud Weight (EMW) depending on the drilling operation prior to the measurement. This information allows the client and/or other parties at the rigsite the direct comparison of the downhole pressure against the pore pressure gradient and the fracture gradient. During drilling, INTEQ field service engineers notify about trends in the ECD log. At the end of the drilling phase, annotated ECD logs are provided.
Interpretive Service - At this service level, specially trained INTEQ field service engineers evaluate the downhole pressure data in context with other information at the rigsite about the past and ongoing drilling operations, the mud system, the formations being drilled etc. Recommendations are derived in order to keep the downhole pressure in the safe operating window between pore pressure and fracture gradient.
Interactive Service - The first two levels, informative and interpretive, of the PressTEQ service focus on the drilling phase with the ultimate goal to keep the downhole pressure in the safe window between pore pressure and fracture pressure while allowing for an optimal rate of penetration.
On the interactive service level Baker Hughes companies work hand in hand with the client to first define the safe pressure window and then to update the pressure model in the drilling phase as soon as new information becomes available at the rig, e.g. from state-of-the-art formation evaluation tools. Depending on the application the service can include the processing of seismic data, the prediction of the pore pressure profile along the planned well path or a comprehensive wellbore stability analysis.
The interactive service covers all phases of a well, planning, drilling and post-well analysis.
Service Application The PressTEQ® Service level provided is based upon the risk of the drilling application. The service ranges from providing ECD data plus a log, through additional ECD data management and an optional pore pressure package to the development of a pressure model in the planning phase, a dynamic update of the model in the drilling phase, ECD management and a detailed post-well review. |
